When you visit the Jackson Candy & Fudge Factory, you will be taking a step back in time. It’s a true 1890’s style candy shop with the decorative copper ceilings, clay brick walls, wood floors, fancy mirrors and decorative lighting from the turn of the century. You will find the old Toledo scales for weighing, and even see a brass National cash register still in use. The building itself is over 100 years old.

While you will find yourself wondering where to tie up your horse, and thinking that the stagecoach will be pulling up out front shortly, you will find the selections of homemade fudge, candies, chocolates, nuts and popcorn flavors to be endless. There are unending rows of candies you had as a child, and what 1890’s confectionary wouldn’t have a large selection of salt water taffy.

There is no charge for all the fun you will have at the Jackson Candy & Fudge Factory. Upon entry you are greeted by the friendliest of staff who will offer you free samples of fudge ranging from Rocky Road to Coconut Crème Pie. All children are given a free token to the Wowie Zowie gumball machine.  You can hear the kids screaming with excitement from over a block away.

While there, you’ll want to take a selfie in the wacky mirror, and don’t forget to spin the prize wheel at the checkout counter for a chance to win something for your next visit. Or, just stand there and think of the days gone by while you take in the sweet smells of home-made fudge or freshly popped caramel corn.

Sweet lovers will adore the open kitchen where you can see the master confectioner making the fudge, roasting the nuts, and preparing the flavors of popcorn. Free samples are generous for those that are patient. Nothing beats fresh, warm cinnamon almonds.
